In the world of film, there are superstars, there are unknowns, and then there's this strange category third of the main actors always recognize, but don’t know their names or recognize them as talented as they are. Postlethwaite is probably best known as the enigmatic Kobayashi in “The Usual Suspects ", but probably saw its widest audience for her performance in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park”.
Steven Spielberg, the director of Jurassic Park and Amistad called Pete "the best actor in the world." At that time, Pete said: "I'm sure what Spielberg actually said was:" The thing about Pete is that he really thinks he is the best player in the world. "
