Serena Williams | Pulmonary Embolism Symptoms

The 29-year-old tennis star Serena Williams was seen making numerous trips to Cedars-Sinai Center of Los Angeles physicians in the last week and her representative confirmed to People magazine that the athlete is faced with a health warning. Williams has not played a WTA match since injuring her right foot just days after winning Wimbledon in July.

Pulmonary embolism, also called a blood clot in the lungs is a serious disease that can have lethal consequences, even for young and healthy. Serena Williams suffered a blood clot during the last week of February and required additional treatment on March 1.
