Aflac Fired Gilbert Gottfried After Tweets About tragic Japanese Earthquake And Tsunami

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried sent a list of twitter offensive Missive about the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and instead drawing laughter. The iconic Aflac Duck has been fired by his gig as the voice of its duck mascot as a result of his controversial series of tweets.

The company issued a statement saying: "Gilbert's recent comments on the crisis in Japan was lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings for one of Aflac. Aflac is plans are underway to implement a national cast to find a new icon Aflac Duck voice. "

Gottfrield issued a statement apologizing for his offensive tweets, "I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by my attempt at humor regarding the tragedy in Japan. I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families."
