Jeremy Renner, who has been nominated for two Oscar for “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town”, has been officially offered leading role in The Bourne Legacy of Universal Pictures to play a new character in the movie spin-off which began production in September. Renner will play a character similar to Jason Bourne for Matt Damon. Triggering a secret government program that is even more dangerous than the program of brainwashing that led Treadstone.
Renner rose to the choice of fact, instead of either the Director Gilroy or the studio's first choice for the role.
