Wide receiver Malcolm Floyd, who has a hamstring injury, was excluded from San Diego Chargers. The game Thursday night against the visiting San Francisco 49ers without Floyd and Antonio Gates, who has been hampered by a torn plantar fascia in his right foot. Vincent Jackson suddenly is a must start. Jackson caught his first two passes of the year last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, and will capture most of the screws depleted receiving corps.
Gates and Floyd missed the Chargers 29-23 Chargers victory over Houston on Nov. 7, the owners of the NFL's worst defense move. QB Philip Rivers completed 17 of 23 passes for 295 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
