President Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize in December 10, 1906, becoming the first American to win a Nobel Prize. Liu Xiaobo is hardly a household name in China. Most people have never heard of the man who is the first Chinese to win the Nobel Prize while living in China. His Nobel Prize medal and diploma for peace led to his empty chair, a Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo has received a standing ovation at the awards ceremony on Friday, the value of people asking for his release.
